Exclusively for Slapton Villagers & Friends of Kimberley

We love our wholesale business but miss the creativity and interaction we enjoyed at our last nursery. Talking to people about their gardens and creating things with the plants that we grow is a huge passion of ours. It’s also great that, once again, Kimberley Nurseries is part of the Slapton community.

We have extended our open mornings to include other offers such as bulb sales, the Christmas Pop Up Shop with wreaths & botanical gifts and decorations. This year, by popular request, we will supply peat free bagged compost. Keep an eye on this page to find out about our new offerings.

We look forward to seeing you at the nursery soon.

Holly, Marcus & Floyd

In June 2024, to celebrate our one year anniversary at Kimberley Nurseries, we hosted an open day for our fellow villagers. It was hugely popular and since then we have not only repeated the event but have hosted, monthly mini open mornings.

Historically this has been exclusively for Slapton Villagers; we also now welcome friends of Kimberley. Of course the villagers have always been our friends, but we have made more along the way - people from Kingsbridge in Bloom and other local horticultural societies, retired customers, small business that have in the past been supplied by Potters Nurseries, fellow growers, and more. This all remains exclusive and by invitation only.

On this page you will find all seasonal information - such as compost, bulb and Christmas sales, opening dates and more. We will continue to keep you up to date via our emails.

If you have any questions please email us at info@kimberleynurseries.co.uk

2026 Highlights

  • Compost. In February 2026 we will be offering Humax, bagged compost. This is the same peat free compost that we use.

  • Hanging baskets We are proud to be supplying Kingsbridge in Bloom with their plants this year. We will be creating KIB hanging baskets, following their tried and trusted recipe. These will be available at Kingsbridge Farmer’s Market and the nursery. A donation from each basket sale will go to KIB.

  • Gift Vouchers. We were asked for gift vouchers at Christmas & thought it was a fabulous idea. If you would like a gift voucher, please email info@kimberleynurseries and we will take it from there. Gift vouchers come printed & in envelopes.

  • Bulbs. Our bulb sale was very popular last year & we will repeat it again in June (the best time to order bulbs from the best suppliers)

  • Growing List. We have published our 2026 Growing List - have a look at the list for inspiration & garden planning.

  • Slapton Open Gardens. We are delighted to be participating in the Open Gardens on the weekend of 13th & 14th June.

  • Mini Open Mornings. We will continue to host mini open mornings every month (with the exception of January & August), usually every second Saturday of the month. Dates below.

Compost

Many of you have asked us to supply compost and this year we are happy to oblige. We are offering the same peat free compost as we use at Kimberley Nurseries. It is first in class with proven success. If some of you still have reservations about using peat free, visit our peat free page to find out more or have a chat with us next time you visit the nursery. ICL Humax Professional Peat Free Compost is the retail, bagged version of the compost that we, as well as other commercial growers, use. “The super light structure will suit most retail growing situations and ideal for all types of planting from sowing & potting through to shrubs & garden vegetables. Humax is formulated and refined with an H²Gro wetting agent, NutriMate & Silversand for essential healthy growth and to aid drainage. H²Gro is a spectacular 3-in-1 mode of action to care for all plants’ water needs.”

A 50L bag is £9. Please email us, info@kimberleynurseries.co.uk by 8th February to order the number of bags you would like.

Slapton Open Gardens

We are excited to be participating in the Open Gardens on 13th & 14th June. If you are opening your garden, we would be happy to spend time with you and chat through your plant needs and suggest ideas to have it looking at its absolute best. We will host two mini open mornings in May to cater for any last minute plant panics.
